It is with great pleasure that I introduce Dr. Norem, a highly accomplished general surgeon who has recently joined our staff.
Dr. Norem brings an impressive background in general surgery, with a career that spans decades of excellence, leadership, and service. He completed his medical education at the esteemed Tulane University School of Medicine and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University’s School of Chemistry and Physics. His surgical training was completed through both an internship and residency at The University of Texas Health Sciences Center, where he laid the foundation for his outstanding career in medicine.
Dr. Norem’s dedication to his field is evident through his extensive involvement in professional organizations and committees. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Surgery and has been a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since 2002. His leadership extends beyond the operating room, as he has held significant roles such as President of the Rapides Parish Medical Society, Chief of Staff at Rapides Regional Medical Center, and Board Chairman of the Louisiana Regional PHO.
In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Norem has a deep commitment to humanitarian work. He has served as an Organizational Representative for the Cristo Sana Medical Mission to Nicaragua since 2004, demonstrating his dedication to providing care to those in need both locally and globally.
Dr. Norem’s expertise is complemented by his active participation in numerous medical committees, including the ICU Committee, Cancer Liaison, and Credentials Committee at Rapides Regional Medical Center. His involvement in these areas reflects his commitment to advancing medical standards and ensuring the highest quality of care for his patients.
We are thrilled to have Dr. Norem join our team at Hardtner Medical Center. His extensive experience, leadership, and compassionate approach to patient care align perfectly with our mission to provide exceptional healthcare to our community. Dr. Norem will be practicing in Suite 100 at the Hardtner Family Clinic, where he is ready to offer his surgical expertise to our patients.
