Dr. Barksdale, a respected member of the Hardtner Medical Center team, has been a cornerstone of healthcare in north Louisiana for over two decades. His journey in medicine began with a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Med from Northeast Louisiana University, followed by his Doctor of Medicine degree from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. After completing his Family Medicine residency at LSU Medical Center in 1993, Dr. Barksdale established himself as one of the leading family practice physicians in the region.
Throughout his career, Dr. Barksdale has been recognized for his exceptional contributions to the field. Notably, he was named Preceptor of the Year for Family Practice in 2012, 2013, and 2014. His commitment to medical education and patient care has left an indelible mark on the medical community and the countless lives he has touched.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Barksdale is known for his love of flying and playing the guitar, passions that reflect his well-rounded character and zest for life. As the son of Hardtner Medical Center’s first administrator, M.L. Barksdale, he carries on a proud legacy of service to our community.
