Dr. Fontane is a board-certified urologist with extensive training and experience in the field. A native of Bunkie, Louisiana, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from Auburn University, graduating cum laude. He then pursued his medical degree at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, where he also completed his general surgery internship and urology residency.
Dr. Fontane has been a board-certified member of the American Board of Urology and maintains active memberships in the Endourology Society, the American Urological Association, and the Louisiana State Urological Association. He is affiliated with Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Rapides Regional Medical Center, and Central Louisiana Surgical Hospital, where he has been practicing for many years.
Recognized for his dedication to urological advancements, Dr. Fontane has been honored with the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society distinction and the Robert K. Womak Award for Excellence in the Study of Urology. He has contributed to medical literature with professional publications and presentations on laparoscopic training techniques and unique cases in urology.
